Economic Stimulus. H.R. 5140, the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, passed 385-35 on January 29, 2008 (Roll Call 25). It would provide about $150 billion in economic stimulus, including $101.1 billion in direct payments of rebate checks (typically $600) to most taxpayers in 2008 and temporary tax breaks for businesses. Creating money out of thin air and then spending the newly created money cannot improve the economy, at least not in the long term. (If it could, why not create even more money for rebates and make every American a millionaire?) The stimulus has no offset and thus increases the federal deficit by the amount of the stimulus because the government must borrow the rebate money. A realistic long-term stimulus can only be achieved by lowering taxes through less government and by reducing regulatory burdens.Marsha Blackburn voted FOR this bill.(Source: The New American – July 21, 2008)

If the caucus needs website help, DotTK might be a viable option. For only about $20 USD, the caucus could OWN A DOMAIN for three years at a time. I’m planning on doing it myself for an online art studio and gallery I’m forming. All that’s required is a subdomain (ex. Geocities, etc.) Once you own a .tk domain, there are numerous web hosting sites that will provide the servers for the site NO CHARGE. Some won’t even show ads on the site’s pages. Also, I’m really good at online research. If the PDA needs that kind of help, send me an email. No charge.

As Director of Operations for the Saxon campaign, I just want to say how much we appreciate you noticing Bobby’s thoughts on this matter.

In this campaign, we are very focused on the idea of common sense, as opposed to partisan pride, guiding legislative decisions. We are glad to see that other people agree that people’s safety is more important than some misplaced sense of extremism.

We are eager, as you said, to help the 10th District to rejoin the mainstream that is “willing to uphold responsible government.”
