The popular tourism campaign has it that Virginia is For Lovers. Some local human rights activists point out that some restrictions apply to this seemingly generous offer - gays and lesbians tend not to be so welcome in some parts of the state of Virginia. Heck, with a recent move in the Virginia state legislature to make it a crime for a heterosexual, married couple to have oral sex, it seems that Virginia is only really for lovers who are stuck in a rut.
Still, when you take a look around, you'll find that there's a huge amount of progressive action going in Virginia. Not all of it is centered around the suburbs of Washington D.C. either. As you can see from the collection of links that we've assembled for this page, there are progressives all throughout Virginia.
