Maryland Progressive Resources

Geographically, Maryland is defined by its great bay, the Chesapeake, which fills a great divide in the heart of the state, flowing as a salty sunken river. Nature makes Maryland what it is, and so the environmentalists in Maryland are some of the most committed activists in the entire nation, working to protect the Chesapeake Bay and natural resources on land as well.

People in Washington D.C. tend to think of Maryland as little more than a colony of the federal government, but the people who live and work in Maryland know better. Maryland has a strong state culture, as a bridge between old ways of thinking and new possibilities. That's what makes the progressives of Maryland so exciting - they are close to, but not consumed by, the great centers of power.

We assembled this directory of progressive Maryland resources to help bring greater notice to the hard working liberal activists in Maryland politics. We've found a great deal of progressive action in Maryland on our own, but we're know that there's even more to be found.
