Arizona stands at the nexus of a number of political influences. California stands right next door, but so does Mexico. Elderly snowbirds demand protection for their gated communities, but eschew funding for schools and child care. Wide open spaces lead to strong environmental concern but also environmental exploitation by developers. There is more than one real Arizona, and more than one Arizonan progressive vision, as we hope the resources below reveal.
